The Finn returns to a full-time race seat after a 2025 spent as Mercedes reserve driver. Bottas spent 2017 to 2021 alongside Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes, contributing to five consecutive Constructors' Championships and collecting ten Grand Prix wins of his own, before three seasons with Sauber and his reserve year at Mercedes.
Like Pérez, Bottas brings a wealth of front-running experience to a team that has none of its own, and his methodical approach to car development should be valuable as Cadillac builds out its operation. The pairing of two race winners with more than 600 combined starts gives the new team one of the most experienced rookie line-ups in F1 history.
